Bibliophiles of Florence

Lawyer, bibliophile, administrator of the department of research and study of ancient books of Bibliophiles (Section of Florence), member of the Aldus Club, international association of bibliophilia, co-founder of the exhibition Suspiriorum.
His love for books began when he was a child with a passion, in particular, for books of ancient and local history, for detective novels and science fiction and for the novels of Charles Dickens.
Over the years he approached the world of ancient books, collecting especially ancient books (but also modern) on the occult, demonology, witchcraft, vampirism, but also on palmistry and astrology.
Among the many important ancient works on the subject in his collection we find the Grimoire of Pope Honorius, De la Demonomanie des Sorciers by Bodin from 1582, the Disquisitionum magicarum by Martin Delrio, the Trinum magicum by Cesare Longino. And again, the Nocturnal Congress of the Lammie by Tartarotti, the Dissertations on the apparitions of spirits and on vampires or revenants of Hungary and Moravia by Calmet and the first edition of the Dissertations on vampires by Davanzati. Furthermore, his private collection, consisting of more than five hundred copies ranging from 1481 to the early 1800s, also includes works on the plague, history (especially local, in particular on the Kingdom of Naples and Cilento), militaria, alchemy and medicinal remedies, emblems and foreign and Italian literature, such as a sixteenth-century edition of Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy in the so-called "nasone" edition and the famous forty-year-old edition of Alessandro Manzoni's Promessi Sposi.
